Supreme Champion Ram at MFF!!
Our Grimurson, BLW-907S takes Supreme Champion Ram at the 2006 Michigan Fiber Festival! His AI sire is Grimur and his dam is one of our Solee daughters, BLW-642N. Her sire in turn is a Heli Grandson. Supreme Champion Ram means 907S took first place in his ram lamb class, then Grand Champion Ram of the Icelandic breed, and then competing against all the other breed's Grand Champion Rams, he took Supreme Champion Ram of the Festival. Wow! 907S went home with Alan Leighton of Creek's Edge Farm in South Dakota. Alan's yearling ewe took Grand Champion Ewe, and then went on to take Supreme Champion Ewe of the Festival. Congratulations Alan!
Our Visir daughter took first place in the Ewe Lamb Class and then went on to take Reserve Champion Ewe. She was beat only by Alan's yearling ewe who then went on to take the all-breed Supreme Champion ewe. Our Reserve Champion ewe is BLW-968S; her AI sire is Visir and her dam is another Solee daughter, BLW-475M. 475M placed second in the adult ewe class at Rhinebeck last fall, (see below), and she was second in her class only to the Reserve Champion Ewe. Her sire is a Hunn quad out of Red, STS-858G, and of course her dam is our treasured Solee, STS-38Z.

The Icelandic Sheep Breeders of North America, ISBONA, held the second National Icelandic Show at the New York Sheep and Wool Fair, in Rhinebeck, New York, this past October, and we will so thrilled with our results at Jager Farm!

We also took second place in the Ewe Lamb Class with BLW-807R. Congratulations to Elaine Clark of Frelsi Farm who took First and Third in the Ewe Lamb Class.
In the ram lamb class, we swept with 801R in first, 800R in second and 860R in third. And our adult ram 329L took second in his class as well. Here he is in his winter fleece:
